Barry waived by Sonics!

In order to complete the trade, the Sonics waived Brent Barry to make the necessary roster spots available. Barry was acquired yesterday in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs.

If he does end up in Phoenix and the Spurs meet them in the playoffs, I'll betchya he has a negative for his +/-.

According to hollinger, we have enough room under the cap to sign someone to a prorated vet minimum and remain under the cap. So I guess he could come back if he wants.

Well, except that the Sonics waived him, instead of buying him out, therefore the team that signs him has to pay the remainder of his contract for this year. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but it would push us into Luxury Tax territory.

i'm gonna try and not get too excited about this at the moment, but it will be tough. i am starting to believe in miracles.

if he does go to phoenix it will just hurt emotionally, but i dont think he would play very much for them given mow much mike d like to use his bench.
