phoenix preparing for our boys

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2008/12/23/20081223spurs1224.html

This is a great article from the Arizona Republic this morning about the SPURS.  It's actually a pretty good piece about how our year has been, and pretty objective considering it's written by the biggest homerdouche in the Valley.

This game ought to be good.  We typically don't deliver stunning performances on major holidays and don't seem to care much about emotional games during the RS.  But we do always bring a little more fire when playing the Kleenix suns, so it will be entertaining.  I'm taking the recap since it is going to work out that I'll be at the game.  Any suggestions you may have for me for saturating the area with SPURS mojo would be appreciated.  The Bruce jersey is already ironed and ready to unveil.

Going to Christmas Eve service in my old church in San Antonio tonight. I dunno if that counts as mojo, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t lift up my Spurs in prayer a time or two tonight. Good luck with the recap, SiMA.

I’m an SA native living in the heart of Suns country. The Suns fans around here won’t let on but this is like Game 7 of the Finals to them. They will never be taken seriously unless they beat the Spurs, and badly.

man you are going to get railed with “spurs are cheaters//floppers//insert excuse for losing” at the game, especially with a brucedog jersey, i kind of want one. i do not envy you at this game though

the Spurs do not defeat you so much as they grind you into tiny shards of psychological wreckage.

From the article

I read that Mike D’Antoni had Spurs ties? Hard to believe, but he played a couple of games for the Spurs way back in ’77, then was a scout for the team during the season after the Spurs won their first championship. You learn something new every day…

Can't wait for the recap

Sima, I truly envy you being at the game today… especially when that three went swishing thru the basket.

BTW- I hope you didn’t get killed.

I am happy. I am proud. - Manu Ginobili
