Powell and Stampler gone ghost on us?
Imma first time writer, lonnnnnnnnnnnng time reader. What got me hooked on this site is imma huge spur fan first, second i loved reading there commentary on the games. Im 23 and get tired of reading the boring ass post of most spurs bloggers on the net and I found this site to be quite refreshing. Im not quite sure why I love the spurs so much as I grew up a military brat living all over the world and only in san antonio for a year., although I was a spurs fan way before i ever lived there. I currently live in Colorado Springs and find it hard to watch there games as I am way to cheap to pay for nba tv..and my net connection sucks way to much for me to watch online. Anyhow to the point what caught me on to this site was the writings of Stampler and Powell, and unfortunetely these days its rare to see them. Maybe I missed the memo on why they are not around I dunno. Can anyone fill me in?
ps. i plan on being a bit more active in writing on the site, you guys seem to have a spurs "brotherhood" of sorts i want to be part of lol

I'd like to be the first to welcome you...
If only we had an open space in our entourage. Sorry Imma, no dice. But just give me your info and I’ll put you on the waiting list. You might just get lucky and take SiMA’s spot. He’s always treading on thin ice.

We’ve been looking for someone good to fill that Colorado spot too.

OFFENSIVE - Flagged
Talking about needing someone to ‘fill a slot’ is offensive to me and there’s no place for it here.

‘Spot’ fool. Learn to read you bumpkin.
by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Dec 1, 2008 10:13 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That was my deliberate editing, your “spot” was too graphic for me to imagine and thus got altered to something more kid-friendly.
by SgtinManusArmy on Dec 2, 2008 12:00 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
At first, when I saw your “OFFENSIVE – Flagged” heading, I thought it was in reference to the thought of you being overlooked as our entourage’s current Colorado representative.
That was way more humourous to me than the whole spot/slot filling idea.

Am I anything but a disappointment to you, Jolly?

How can I be disapointed with you when you make me laugh so? Admittedly, I was laughing at what I thought you were going to say, and not what you actually were saying — but still.

So in other words, your perception of me is the only thing funny. It’s not actually me at all.
ATS has poisoned you. You were once so wonderful and kind, so full of promise.
by SgtinManusArmy on Dec 2, 2008 12:43 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Wonderful and kind? Ah, yes. That’s the PRE-midnight JRW. He is quite the nice fellow.
But it’s AFTER-midnight JRW you’re conversing with now. And you’d best beware because you never know what I might do. Pretend to hurt kittens, make believe that I’m going to buy a weapon of some sort, propose putting Frenchie on the trading block.
You know, crazy like that.

Speaking of kittens and your insinuation that you might be willing to part with Frenchie….

Be very, very careful.

I will admit that I was definitely not thinking about kittens when I wrote that clearly irresponsible post.
I’m not sure where that puts me. But I’m going to have to live with it.

Not catty, bitter and jealous. The Money knows he’s loved, and thereby deeply missed. And I really want to ride in a helicopter.

You may be able to ride, but The Money can hang out the side and shoot footage at the same time.
Face it, you just can’t compete with that.

Soap Opera
Ha ha ha ha ha. Yes, it’s definitely on the snippy side in this post. CMoney (after being too humble to accept SiMA’s compliments) busts on SiMA, and uses LD’s post to do so, and winds up offending LD.
LD, your reply killed me.
"EVEN LatinD"? and the ellipses — too perfect.
Punctuation as comic device. As Punctuation Czar, I heartily approve.

I think that was SpursFan4Ever or something like that. He’s in the Corps - I think a Junior this year which means he should be spending all his time polishing his boots- and is the oldest of 7-8 kids in his family.

I’m in the Springs too, broseph. We should meet up and watch a game (a la ATS and whomever falls for his pleas for companionship. I’m glancing at you, JRW). You gots plans for the thugs on Thursday?

I’m in? Really? Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo HOO!
Street cred city! Here I come. I mean, I’ve arrived!
Uh, ummmm. Is there some place where you can exchange this “street cred” thingy for anything that’s worth anything, or for something that you can, you know, actually use?
Sorry for asking, but this is all so new to me.

Settle down… a guy in Colorado telling you that you have ‘street cred’ is akin to a deaf man critiquing an opera.
But if I learn of this ‘cred exchange rate’ that you speak of, I’ll let you know. It works here for granola bars and armpit hair, judging by the local ladies.

Try to denigrate it if you want to, but you can’t take it back. You know how impossible it is to edit a comment once you hit “POST” – so it’s here forever, or until Powell decides that this conversation is too silly and uninteresting to leave up.
