SHAQ: Holy God, please make him shut up! Please , O' God...

In what is my first basketball related post since the season ended, Shaq has announced to a radio station that he will "make the Spurs pay for using the 'Hack-a-Shaq" strategy last year."

Here is the link:http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3644779

Is it just me, or did anyone else just seem to know that Shaquille would have one of the longest, most drawn out and annoying declines of any athlete ever? The guy still talks trash like he's 25 and superhuman. What he needs to realize is that now he just sounds like those guys who talk about playing ball back in high school, while their beer gut rolls about like some majestic ocean wave, or perilous sand dune.

Shaq and his fat head needs to realize that, at this point in time, more people are starting to laugh AT him than with him.

this was my favorite part:

“[The strategy] doesn’t work,” O’Neal said on KTAR. "You know San Antonio tried it but they went home a couple weeks after we went home.

Yes Shaq. The strategy is clearly flawed because, by using it, San Antonio was only able to defeat your team in 5 games and then advance to the western conference finals before an injury to Manu (probably) derailed them. Clearly the hack

Huh.

That’s priceless. Shaq used to be quotable – but in a good way.

Shaq's always been funny, not just "ha-ha" but "uh-oh" too

In ‘95 when the Magic were halfway through being swept the Rockets, Shaq said of his free throw issues, "It’s not mental. I can make them in practice"

Around the same time period, when being interviewed about not having won a championship, he said, "I’ve won at every level, except college and pro."

And there are more here.

Heh

Thanks, some of these are great.

"Our offense is like the Pythagorean Theorem. There is no answer." This one offends the engineer in me. :)

And another one, on free throws: "If I was able to have the game I have and shoot 80% from the line, I’d probably be an arrogant person rather than a humble one. Everything happens for a reason."

’Nuff said.

If the Shaq we know and … uh, hmmmm — Starting over. If this Shaq is the “humble one”, I’d hate live in the alternative universe where the arrogant Shaq exists.

He has used that quote twice, but with an added touch to it.

“My offense is like the pythagorean Theorem, there is no answer. Well there is an answer, but by the time you’ve figured it out, i’ve scored 40 and grabbed 15 rebounds.”

the Spurs do not defeat you so much as they grind you into tiny shards of psychological wreckage.

This is what psychologists would call classic "projection"

When you project, you take what you’d expect, based on your own experience (in this case, how long it would take him to struggle with the complexities of A²+B²=C² to come up with an answer) and project that onto others, in expectation that it would take them that long as well.

In this example, we can see that it takes The Big Hypotenuse about the length of a basketball game to square two numbers and add them together correctly.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Big lots. Add mouth.

He’s been called big lots of things. Add the " Big Mouth " to it. If it hasn’t been added already.

I never was big Shaq fan, but I always respected his game and still do to an extent. However, dude needs to STFU. He’s been an embarassment this summer and with the way he is playing now, he is nothing more than a sideshow. I hope Phoenix enjoys when he misses at least 30 games this season.

i cannot believe that anyone ever liked the man. his continued lack of class has gotten to a comical level. in this case, he was just dumb. he is about the only person i can think of that says more dumb shit than joe biden.

mr. o’neal wouldnt play a minute in the league if he were 6-6. he cant pass, cant shoot cant handle, and really possesses very little in the way of actual basketball skill/talent.

other than that, i think he’s great.

O' Neal is such

a dumbass. He too stupid to realize the only way to stop the hack-a-shaq is to MAKE YOUR FREE THROWS!…..you overrated, no-game-other-than-the-dunk-and-your-fatass having loser.

Great point, SL. Just imagine if he spent as much time practicing his free throws as he’s spent talking about them.

Shaq

I once dated a girl who lived next door to Shaquille O’neal in Orlando, Florida, where he until recently owned a house. Not sure where the house lands after the whole divorce thing, but she said he was a pretty nice guy.

Not the only thing she lied about.

Shaq has always interested me because the media seem to love him so much and talk about what a likable guy he is, yet fans of at least 5 different teams hate him. The list off the top of my head.
Sacramento Fans
Houston Fans
San Antonio Fans
Orlando Fans
Miami Fans
Los Angeles “Fans”

Are there other fanbases that have such a problem with him?
