PTR Fantasy League

Will there be another head-to-head Pounding the Rock (PTR) Yahoo! fantasy league this year? It was a lot of fun last year.

I can definitely start one up if Matthew(?) is not available to administrate the league. Of course, serious players only -- that means you have the knowledge and ganas to last throughout the entire season. There's nothing more pathetic than someone dropping out of a league two weeks in because they realize they don't know the "fantasy" game (or the game for that matter) as well as they thought they did.

The league last year was a 5 catagory league (Pts, Rebs, Asts, Stls, Blks) with 12(?) roster spots.

If anyone here knows Matthew, please contact him so we can get this rollin'.

Id be up for it

I got dibs on George Hill though

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

Was just thinking of this last night.

Would love to be involved.

Could we get 3’s into the cats? 3 ptm? and FG? not 3p.

makes it more interesting with at least 7 cats.

I'm down!

Hey I haven’t posted a lot, but read this blog pretty religiously. I’ve been looking for a competitive fantasy league to join. If this goes forward I’d love to be in on it. Feel free to send me info. Thanks.

umm that was meant to be FG percentage. I don’t know why it failed in such an epic manner on the % symbol

Back2Back Champion?

Just because the Spurs have been unable to repeat as NBA Champions, doesn’t mean I can’t take the PtR Fantasy Title two years in a row! Last year’s league was somewhat competitive; I probably won, not because I had the best team, but simply because I was the most active manager. Unfortunately, fantasy sports has become more than just a hobby for me, its now more of an obsession; so much so that my GPA and job performance are suffering because of it!

But in the interest of continuing to feed my habit, I would love to participate again in this years fantasy league. We only had nine managers last season, hopefully we can get at least that many to play this time around, and maybe we can schedule a live draft as well? Keep us posted when you have the league up and running. Thanks.

If there is room for me, I would love to play. I was in two leagues last season and it was my first year, but I won the roto league and finished 3rd in h2h. Let me know.

Commissioner Williams

Terremento, do you mind starting this thing off. I am a commish of another league and so I’m not wiling to do that in two leagues. Let’s get this party started. We can’t wait around for Matt all season.

Let The Game Begin!

Hey Hey Hey PtR fantasy players! Ask and ye shall receive. Since it didn’t seem like anyone was up on starting our league, I went ahead and created our official “PoundingTheRock Fantasy League”!

I used Yahoo! because I am most familiar with their system. By my count, we have nine PtRers interested so far, but I opened it up to have as many as 12 managers. It is a standard nine category Roto league, but I altered the number of roster positions; two PGs, two SGs, one G, two SFs, two PFs, one F, two C, two UTIL, and four bench spots. If we get the full 12 managers to participate, it will be a deep league so the competition will be based on more than a superficial knowledge of the NBA; if we only get like nine or so players, then once again, our teams will be stacked, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing either!

The information to register ya’lls teams is below. I scheduled the LIVE draft for this Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM Central time. Hopefully, everyone will be able to sign up by then and participate. I figured, it’s a weekend, and it allows enough time for people to get back from church/sleep in, and hopefully we can wrap it up before the football games kick off at noon. Hope to see ya’ll there!

Fantasy Draft

I was at Knott’s Scary Farm in LA (like a six flags only with hundreds of seasonal workers hired to dress up as scary halloween characters and chase you around the park) till 2 am and then I had to drive to Newport and then back to Santa Monica. Went to bed at 4:30. The next morning I had an ultimate frisbee game at 10 so I had to be up at 9 to make it. It was a game time decision but decided I needed more than 3.5 hours of sleep to play 2 long games of ultimate. The draft was sacrificed, but I still think my team looks solid. Really everybody’s team is stacked. I’m stoked about getting Dwayne at 6th place. I think he’s gonna kill this year.

yeah i looked at the draft and went holy pants on fire, i got everyone i wanted, then realised that theres only 7 GM’s so it wasn’t so tough :)
