Game Thread # 34 -- vs. Detroit
Manu Ginobili is the only player in the NBA who doesn't shoot the ball in that situation. I had flashbacks to the 2005 playoffs, when Manu was fond of passing up shots for no good reason. Now it's 2007 and he's eschewing wide open 3s in favor of passing the ball to Jacque Vaughn 22 feet from the basket. That's not selfless play Manu, that's stupid play. This isn't fucking Little League. Jacque Vaughn's mother isn't going to complain to the coach if he doesn't get enough shots.

Spurs 85
Pistons 80
If Dallas Can Beat Them, So Can We
SA: 106
To be honest, I would definitely feel more confident about this game if the Pistons had won last night in Dallas. With the Mavericks beating them pretty soundly and Detroit now riding a two game losing streak, the odds are that the Pistons come in tonight and blow the Spurs out of the water trying to prove a point and get back on the winning track. But I'm holding out hope that Manu sparks the offense again and San Antonio doesn't underestimate a team on the second night of a back-to-back.

tonites game is bothersome because the pistons have lost two in a row. i'm frankly surprised that they have a good of a record as they do, but any team with billups is gonna cause match-up problems for folks.
i am hopeful that the spurs offensive malaise was finally shook off up at golden state the other night. if that's the case, we should win it going away.
i guess i'll middle it and say:
spurs 87
pistons 82

"...Thursday had the same look, and Popovich had a look of his own. When the Pistons went on a 22-2 run to end the first quarter, Popovich never called a timeout. He chose, instead, to sip from a cup.
If this was a message for his players, it was this: You have to decide to play. Afterward he praised Tim Duncan and Jacque Vaughn and, when asked to critique others, he praised Duncan and Vaughn some more."
I share the same sentiments, these guys know they can't put a performance like that out there and expect to win. I am gonna act like Tony was injured last night, because he certainly didn't show up to the game. I hope this is the wakeup call the gang was waiting on, because now is the time to wake up. I mean if they aren't interested in winning and stuff like that. And Hipuks, Reggie CAN NOT talk, whoever decided that he should be a color analyst needs to be slapped about 15 times in a row or slapped into a jelly!!!! But I digress, I thought last night would be the start to a strong run for us, but I am hoping for a Wolves asskicking tomorrow to get the ball rolling.
