Around SBN: In Crunch Time, Spurs Don't Change Their Game

Game Thread # 32 -- @ Los Angeles Clippers

ESPN lists Manu as out for Sunday's contest against the mighty Clippers.  Is it just me, or does it feel like the Spurs have played an easy schedule so far?  Well, I looked into it briefly and found some supporting evidence.  The Spurs are 7-7 against teams over .500, and there's only one other team in the Western Conference that's played less than 15 games against teams with winning records (Utah, also with 14).  There's also this site which has the Spurs with the second easiest schedule in the NBA.  Let's look at the bright side, at least the Spurs game should be more entertaining as the season continues.

Clippers + Elton Brand = Scary Playoff Matchup
SA:  94
LAC: 81

This should, and I emphasize the word "should", be a typical win for the Spurs. Tony returns to penetrating the lane and getting to the hole for easy buckets, Timmy has another double double with 22 pts. and 12 reb., and Bruce shuts down Maggette. Or...because Manu is out, once again, our offense struggles mightily, Kaman has a monster game dominating every big man San Antonio throws at him, and we lose, once again. I'm hoping for the former!

It's been a while since I failed to guess at the score. That's probably why the Spurs lost all those games. Yeah.

a better showing than recent games.  our guys showed some flashes of the things that we are used to seeing; like a sweet manu block in the last 3 minutes followed by him scoring points on the other end.  nice to see our poster boy back in uniform.

will still need a better effort if we hope to win the next one tomorrow night.
