Simmons really hates Manu!

It's not that bad.  He's just trying to be funny.  He's joking about Manu because fans of other teams love to hate him.  Simmons has an idea how good he is.

He did include him in the top 50.  He put him at 57 and said "I'm dropping him 25 spots because of his hair blah blah blah"

That means he thinks Manu was the 32nd most valuable player in the NBA.  

Actually, that's still too low.  Fuck you Simmons, I hope the Celtics get the 3rd draft pick.

To say 32 players or even 57 players are better than Manu is absurd! I mean he is combing DeSagana Diop & Erick Dampier into 1 player and put Sebastian Telfair who sucks  at 43. and The bug Josh Howard at number 11? Why doesn't he just get on his knees and start juggling the Mavs c@$#@K in his mouth already!

lol Matthew! I know he praises Tim all the time but he does hate Manu. He always talks shit about Manu.  And praising Duncan and belittling Manu is crap!

This is what Simmons wrote about Manu back in November

Any time a guy loses two steps and develops a bald spot, that's usually a sign that he's on his way out of the league soon. We're sure he's only 28 and not 35, right"

All this guy can bring up is his bald spot, yes he has a little bald spot but it's getting kind of old that he keeps bring up the same thing. He can't say anything about Manu's game so he makes fun of his hair? I guarantee if Manu got hair plugs Simmons would still try to make fun of him.

Manu is one of those guys that you can only appreciate how good he is if you see him night after night.  

He stopped being a regular on those highlight shows once he quit dunking on a regular basis so people have forgotten about how good he is.  And now he's a 6th man, so he's way below the radar.  

Nobody outside of SA who isn't a stats geek has any idea it's been his best season.

But I can see how other fans despise him.  He's pesky.  He takes charges, he draws fouls.  He doesn't look like he should be any good.  

For the one or two of you who follow hockey, he reminds me a lot of Esa Tikkanen on those great Oilers teams.  

I don't think Simmons is stupid.  He's a basketball fan and I think he'd love to have Manu on his team.  Most likely he's just bitter that his GM can't find people like that and even if they could, they'd trade them away before figuring out how good they were.  

Simmons will go whichever way the wind blows with Manu.  If he has another great playoffs and we win a ring, Simmons will be forthcoming with the roses and praise.  If the Spurs lose and he can find a convenient way to peg it on Manu, he will.
