it's awesome when a sports pundit has a hard-on for either the spurs or the longhorns. it can make me totally appreciate someone that i would normally hate, like when woody paige took the horns over those lily-white nancies at usc. and when they hate on them, it can make me despise someone i used to like, like when woody paige took little d over the SASifrass in last year's playoffs.

well, i really like john hollinger. the man don't lie, even if his numbers game is an impotent stab at sports appreciation. he has a new blog on espn.com, where he says the the mvp race is between only two players, dirk nowitzki and tim duncan. i can't read the post, i'm too poor and need to save money for booze and cooze, right? but i've been saying this for a while. duncan's numbers (20.0 ppg, 10.8 rpg, .535 shooting, 2.33 blocks, and 3.3 assists) are not only awesome, but amazing when you consider that he isn't even playing 35 mins a game.

on a tangental note, there was something else on the truehoop blog about the all-time regular season coasters. of course, big shot bob is #1. duncan was #2. maybe his low regular season minutes are the reason that his numbers jump so high in the playoffs.
