News Rundown - Weekend Edition
Since it's all star weekend, I'll just add new news onto this thread. I will say, though, that after seeing Drew Brees break his elbow in the pro-bowl and Reggie twist his ankle in a meaningless celebirty game, I hope Will Smith, Marques Colston, Jamal Brown, and the rest of the Saints core players stay the hell away from any event televised by ESPN.
On the Spurs front, the recently maybe-unretired Scottie Pippen has the Spurs as one of the teams he would like to play for.

This is interesting, because the Spurs certainly does have a need for a SF or a backup point, both of which are positions that Pippen can play. I also think he is a fine coaching candidate, as you've got to respect anyone who not only put up numbers and led a fine defense, but dealt with Michael Jordan for more than 10 years.
Being the all-star weekend, expect alot of "soft" human interest stories. Like the piece Mike Monroe has this morning dealing with Duncan's posterizing at the hand of Dwight Howard and Ice man's participation in the All-Star festivities (he's a replacement for Steve Kerr in the shooting stars event).

Inside Hoops has a short interview up with Tony Parker. Nothing really said there, but check it out just for the interview with Gilbert Arenas that's on the same page.
