Tim Will Live!!!!

Below is what I just picked off mySA.com's blog by Jeff McDonald. It appears that the MRI is thankfully negative. hopefully, Timmy will be back after missing only a couple of games.

Jeff McDonald: Duncan's MRI results are in
Tim Duncan's MRI results came back Monday afternoon negative, which is positive for the Spurs and their franchise player.

There is no ligament damage in his right knee, which he injured while tangling with Portland's James Jones in Sunday afternoon's game.

The Spurs are officially listing Duncan with a sprained right ankle, though his right knee remains bruised and sore for the time being. He is being ruled out of Wednesday's game against Dallas, after which time his condition will be updated.

He could miss a game. He could miss two weeks. But either is much better than the alternative.

Probably. But a close loss would be almost as good... if almost as unlikely. The Spurs have had a mental block against Dallas... they don't match up terribly, but ever since we wiffed in 2005, we haven't even put up a decent fight against them since. Blow outs, home and away.
Just staying in the game with Tim missing would be a huge mental victory for the Spurs.

i seem to remember a few big games playing without timmy in the past....didnt manu drop 40-somethings on phoenix a few years back and on the kobe-shaq lakers? maybe he did that with dalls once dallas too? anyone remember these?

maybe manu will get his first start of the season? nah, probably not.

here's hoping for wild scoring outputs by the both of them on wednesday to at least make it a fun game to watch.

Manu did have a big game a few years back against the Kobe-Shaq Lakers when Timmy out, but IIRC, we still lost. I don't remember a similar situation with Dallas.

I'm still hoping that Timmy sits out until after the Phoenix game. I'd like to see what Manu and Tony can do without Tim.
