Re: I Could Be Happier Right Now
I didn't know there were people who doubted the existence of the Armenian genocide. Where I live it's pretty much an accepted truth. Then again, you're probably read a lot more about it than me.

Football matches without fans are a true pity. Neutral ground is better. Move the matches to Japan, like they do for the International Cup. Japanese will cheer for just about anyone, so it'll even out.

That said, I doubt Brazil will win the next WC. Maybe the next one, since it's held in Brazil, but let us not forget the "Maracanazo" in the last WC held in Brazil, when they lost 2-1 to Uruguay in the final match. Not to mention that thousands of people from other South American countries will be able to attend when they play in Brazil, so the home advantage might not be as big against, say, Argentina.

Basketball now. I can't see Durant as anything but a superduperstar in the future, so PJ benching him wouldn't make so much sense. As competitive as everyone says Durant is, I imagine he'll be propelled to greatness by the harsh criticism he received for his rookie mistakes. And he should be able to grab more than 4 rebounds per match if he tries harder.

'Sides, playing in Seattle can't be easy nowadays. I honestly never liked the franchise concept in the NBA, where teams are allowed to move at will from city to city. If there's a way of alienating your fanbase, that's it.

Great recap for the game. You've pretty much said it all. I just wish Pop would give Darius a chance, considering that Vaughn plays under a "less is more" formula. Is it too much to ask for a backup PG that actually contributes? I think Darius has shown glimpses, so why not give him more minutes early in the season, when the pressure is low?

Re: I Could Be Happier Right Now
Honestly, I'm probably 80/20 that it happened. My point is that I don't care but I know a lot of people still do so perhaps these two countries playing against each other home and away isn't the best idea for the players involved. I'm as worried for the Armenian players' safety as the Turkish ones.

Re: I Could Be Happier Right Now
Well, I think is time for me to confess, I love french fries with mayo, as a matter of fact, before coming to this country, I though that was the only way you could have french fries. I just love mayo in general I guess.

As for the Turkey-Armenia game, yeah it could have the potential for violence. But I always thought one of the great things about soccer were nationalistic rivalries, sort of mini wars. For example, when Argentina plays against England, oh yeah, you pirates took our Falkland Islands in 1982? Well, we'll kick your ass in a soccer match! In that way no other sport is even close to soccer. By the way, in middle school and high school, armenians and latinos would always get in fights, I never understood why there was hate between the two groups. I never got involved though, my ability to speak spanish coupled with my body hair allowed me to sort of be part of the two groups.

Anyway, great recap, as for the defense, I have to admit I've only followed the Spurs for the last three seasons, but isn't it how they start every season? They play not so good d until the rodeo trip and that's when they get their shit together?

Spurs = OK
The Spurs are alright for now. They aren't supposed peaking now anyway. We know what they are, and these guys know that what they have to do if they want win position themselves to win another 'chip. Besides it's f*cking November, and after what they accomplished last season, I am not going to worry about this team.

Re: I Could Be Happier Right Now
Delonte West, who looks more like some P.O.W. refugee than an NBA player at this point, his body is so bruised an inked up. Plus his skin just has this unnatural shade to it, I'm sorry. I don't know if it's scurvy or jaundice or what, but something ain't right with that dude. I can't possibly be the only one to think it.

True dat, my friend.  True dat.
